My name is Nikki Dymond, I am a happy, warm and enthusiastic teacher with a passion to learn and grow in education.
I come from a large family background with over 40 family members. My passion of teaching begins with my large family, with cousins from 1-14 years old. I enjoy organising pass the parcel games to looking after them on weekends.
In my spare time I love to play sport (Hockey and Soccer), travel and socialise. I am a person who likes to keep active.
My love of teaching grew through my studies at Deakin University (Burwood) and my work at OSHC. My experience in practicum has continued to influence my love of teaching. My dedication to teach strives from my past teachers, especially my grade 4 teacher. The way she was able to understand my interests, needs and experiences and link them to education made learning engaging and influential in the classroom. Her belief in my skills allowed me to grow and develop confidently in the classroom. I hope to create a strong bond with my students and show them the experience of linking learning to interests and needs.
For three years I have been an After Care Assistant in the ELC - Prep area of the school. The experience and knowledge gained from daily interactions with students, parents and colleagues has been influential to my future endeavours of primary teaching.
I have taught a small group of kids field hockey in a program called 'Hook in 2 Hockey'. I have gained valuable experience coaching and assisting children learning skills and techniques of Hockey.
